STARKE, Fla. (WCJB) -- For the next two weeks, Call St. in downtown Starke will be closed off as the Florida Department of Transportation and CSX run a joint overhaul construction project.
The crossing, located next to Downtown Grill, will be closed until about July 22. FDOT said the traffic impact will be minimal.
"It's a mild inconvenience having a detour for motorists for the next couple weeks," FDOT's Troy Roberts said. "Once it's done they won't have any issues going over the track, it'll be a lot smaller of a transition for them."
Roberts said the crossing was due for an upgrade, and that the roadway had become rough for cars to drive over.
Motorists will have to park and walk to access businesses around the crossing until the project is completed.
