GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The University of Florida kicked off the new school year with a rally in The Swamp on Tuesday, August 20.
“I bought season tickets. I’m ready to go all-in and like experience the whole Gator spirit,” said freshman Asha Clarke.
Thousands of students showed up to the pep rally to get in that Gator spirit.
They learned some of the chants and traditions that make Saturdays at The Swamp so special.
“There’s nothing like it," said head football coach Dan Mullen. "You have 90 thousand people going crazy, and the players are out here, guys are going hard, but you feel the energy."
The band, cheerleaders, and Albert and Alberta were all in attendance, getting students excited for the football season and the school year.
And it was great "fan practice" for the first Gators home football game on September 7.
