'Rick's Recession' tour held a press conference in Gainesville
Some North Central Florida elected officials are calling the current economic climate a "recession."
Governor Rick Scott came to Ocala last week, talking about the number of jobs created during his time in office.
People in the 'Rick's Recession' tour say there is more work that needs to be done for Florida families.
"A lot of folks are being left behind. making sure people are earning a living wage is actually a jobs plan," Alachua County Commissioner Ken Cornell said. "When you put an extra dollar or two in people's pockets that are working full-time, often times two or three jobs, that money gets immediately spent back into the economy."
'Rick's Recession' tour' is calling attention to the number of jobs in Marion, Putnam, Union, Levy, Gilchrist, Bradford, and Columbia county saying those counties have not seen economic recovery.
Scott is widely expected to officially announce his candidacy for US Senate soon.
