Motorcyclist killed, several injured in Levy County pile-up

Lanes of US-41 in the Montbrook area of Levy County were blocked for hours on Saturday as the Florida Highway Patrol investigated a deadly wreck.
According to FHP, a group of Harley Davidson motorcycles was traveling north around 2:45 p.m. when they attempted to pass a vehicle going in the same direction.
Three of the motorcyclists failed to make it past the vehicle before colliding head-on with a Kia Soul, driving in the opposite direction. One of them also hit a Chevy Silverado.
One of the motorcyclists, 55-year-old Tony Lewis Mead from Homosassa, died on scene.
Two other motorcyclists and one of their passengers; 45-year-old Karl Hulsizer, 47-year-old Craig Travis Conrad, and 41-year-old Amy Conrad; were all taken to UF Health Gainesville with serious injuries. Craig Travis Conrad was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Kia Soul, 28-year-old Jessalyn Krewson from Gainesville, was also taken to the hospital in serious condition.
No one in the Chevy Silverado was injured.
The investigation is ongoing by FHP.
