GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- Santa Fe College Police responded to a call regarding a suspicious package last night.

While walking her dog, a woman discovered a box on the sidewalk near the Santa Fe College Gymnasium.

She notified college police, who then contacted Alachia County Sherrif's Deputies.

Santa Fe College Communications Manager, Jay Anderson, said the woman did the right thing.

"This is the kind of thing that you know we have a very safe campus. But it's more than just the Santa Fe College Police Department. It's the faculty, it's the staff, it's the students, it's anybody that comes on to this campus and sees anything to say something," said Anderson.

The bomb squad concluded the package contained modeling clay and was not harmful.
