Santa Fe College holding "Quiet Time at the Zoo" for people on the autism spectrum

The Santa Fe Teaching Zoo is holding a special event for people on the autism spectrum this weekend.

"Quiet Time at the Zoo" will be be held from nine to eleven tomorrow morning.

The zoo will offer comfort kits, noise canceling headphones, and weighted blankets, and will have signs warning of extra loud or smelly areas.

The program will also include keeper talks, animal encounters, and interactive sensory stations.

The event is eight dollars for adults, five dollars for children (ages 4-12), seniors (60+), active military, veterans, first responders and UF students, and is free to Santa Fe students, staff members, and children three years and under.
