Santa Fe coordinator passes away at age 55

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- The Santa Fe community is in mourning. The college released a statement, Monday, saying 55-year-old Raul Villareal, the Coordinator of Cultural Programs, died of a heart attack.

The college said Villareal was an internationally-renowned artist. His father was close with Ernest Hemingway.

Villareal was also known for co-producing and narrating a documentary titled 'Hemingway: Between Key West and Cuba'.

A celebration of life is scheduled to take place Tuesday at Santa Fe College's Fine Arts hall. It will begin at 3 p.m. and run through 5 p.m.
