MIAMI (WCJB) — The US Coast Guard has called off its search efforts for a missing captain, off the coast of South Florida. The search was suspended Saturday after 21 hours and covering more than 300 square miles.
Captain Robert Hopkins plane went down on Friday. A Coast Guard helicopter rescued a man in a raft near the wreckage who was flown to a hospital for treatment.
The captain was flying from Nassau to Opalocka, a cargo flight he has flown multiple times.
The condition of the first officer found in the crash is not known.
