Sears has announced that they are closing their store in the Oaks Mall this summer.
Howard Riefs, the corporate communications director for Sears, says that the store will close in the middle of July. The store will begin its liquidation sale on April 27th.
According to Riefs, the closing is part of a strategy to close down stores that are too big for the company's needs and save on costs.
Sears employees that are eligible will get severance and have the opportunity to apply for positions at other Sears or Kmart stores.
