Self-described "hit man" convicted in two Marion County murders

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- A jury found 57-year-old Jose Manuel Martinez guilty, Thursday, in two murders from 2006. The victims included 20-year-old Javier Huerta and 28-year-old Gustavo Rivas.

Martinez has previously admitted to more than 30 murders across the country, including the double homicide in the Ocala National Forest.

The victims were found zip-tied in a Nissan pick-up truck along Highway 19.

Martinez could face the death penalty during the sentencing phase, which is set to begin on Wednesday.
