ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -- A senior caretaker was arrested on a warrant Sunday after police said she beat and attempted to rob an elderly man that used to be under her care.

Gainesville Police officers say 51-year-old Penny Hill broke up into the man's home and hit him with a broom.

In another complaint, officers say she broke into the home again and punched the man and another woman inside the home.

“It’s important that we look out for the elderly community because they often fall victim to either incidence like this where it's violent or scams," said Sgt. Lisa Scott.

Hill was charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 or older, attempted robbery and intimidating a witness.

She was booked at the Alachua County Jail.
