MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -- The Marion County Drug Enforcement Unit and S.W.A.T team " feel good " after making seven arrests in a suspected drug trafficking ring.
Operation " Papa's got a brand new bag " was part of a several month long investigation located primarily in the area of Silver Springs Shores.
James Brown and six other associates were arrested Wednesday. Brown was taken into custody during a traffic stop.
Four homes, one business, and two storage units were searched leading to onsite arrests. Authorities say their group was buying and selling heroin and other illegal drugs in the community.
Brown is facing multiple drug charges and is being held in the Marion County Jail on a more than $227,000 dollar bond.
