Several road closures starting this week in Gainesville

Drivers in Gainesville will see their share of road closures this upcoming week.

City leaders say roads around One College Park will be closed until Friday due to construction.

Northbound traffic on Northwest 18th Street between Northwest 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue will also be closed during the week but will be open on the weekends.

Drivers should also expect some closures on Northwest 17th Street between Northwest 1st and 2nd Avenue.

Southeast 4th Street will also be closed between Depot Avenue and Williston Road this week. Local traffic will be able to reach their homes and businesses but incoming traffic will need to use Williston Road to bypass the construction area.

Officials remind all drivers that they should plan any travel with these closures in mind.
