Shootout between clerk and customer in Florida City gas station

FLORIDA CITY, Fla. (WCJB)-- 34-year-old Jesus Rodriguez was trying to buy alcohol at a Florida City gas station when an argument escalated with the clerk.

The clerk refused Rodriguez because he felt the customer was already drunk. Rodriguez repeatedly called the clerk a racial slur while demanding to use the restroom.

An argument broke out and Rodriguez was told to leave. Police say Rodriguez pulled out a gun and pointed it at the clerk. They began to wrestle and Rodriguez shot the clerk.

While wrestling, The clerk shot Rodriguez as well and secured the gun.

Both men were treated for their wounds and Rodriguez was charged with attempted murder.
