Arkansas hospital owned by financially troubled owner Jorge Perez files for bankruptcy

DE QUEEN, Ark. (WCJB)-- Another hospital run by the owner of Regional General Hospital in Williston is bankrupt.

De Queen Medical Center in Arkansas filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in South Florida, where Jorge Perez has offices. The petition claims De Queen Medical owes about 400-thousand dollars to its creditors.

More than half of that is owed to "Empower HIS," which division of corporations documents show is owned by Perez.

De Queen Medical had been placed in receivership last week.

Court records show Regional General Hospital in Williston continues to owe the IRS more than 400-thousand dollars in unpaid taxes.
