South Main Street closer to reopening in Gainesville

Construction work on South Main Street in Gainesville is one step closer to being finished after the last of 21 power poles was removed.
However, the project isn’t over yet. Due to issues with the asphalt repaving, contractors will begin nighttime repairs on Sunday.
Additional work will take place weeknights throughout July between Depot Avenue and South 16th Avenue. Detours will be in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
