New Executive Director of St. Francis House

Lauri Schiffbauer was an executive for United Way before volunteering to serve as the interim director of the St. Francis House.

The center is a non-profit organization founded

by providing emergency food, temporary shelter and related services.

Schiffbauer served in the interim position for only a few weeks before applying, interviewing and finally accepting the position as permanent executive director.

Schiffbauer explained her mission and goals for the St. Francis House. "It's about relationship building, it's about partnership building."

The new director added, "and what we really want to get the message out, and we can do a better job at it, is that we are here to permanently and stably house children and families. That's the ultimate goal, that's what we want to achieve."

With a background and passion for helping the needy, Schiffbauer looks forward to serving St. Francis House and the Gainesville community.
