State Fire Marshal investigating Ocala mobile home fire

Multiple units with Ocala and Marion County Fire Rescue responded to a mobile home fire in Ocala Friday morning.

In a Facebook post, MCFR said the fire happened around 6:00 a.m. near 3000 SE 41st Avenue.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire around 6:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

6 December 2019: **MCFR & OFR Battle Mobile Home Structure Fire** At 6:16am, Marion County and Ocala Fire Rescue were dispatched to reports of a mobile home structure fire located in the 3000 block of SE 41st Avenue, Ocala. Multiple 911 callers reported heavy smoke and flames, they did not know if the home was occupied. MCFR’s on-duty Division Chief was first to arrive on scene at 6:21am. During the 360 inspection of the fire grounds he reported the home to be 50-60% involved. He went into immediate rescue mode to complete a search of the structure. Ocala Fire Rescue #2 arrived on scene and went into search mode. Fire conditions inside the structure prevented a complete search. MCFR District Captain #5 arrived on scene and assumed command. Fire operations assumed a defensive operations. Fire suppression units from MCFR Rolling Greens Station #28, Shores Station #17, Shady Station #16 and Ocala Fire Rescue Station #2 arrived on scene to extinguish the blaze. Both power and gas utilities were shut off to the home. The fire was called under control at 6:27am. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters on scene. This is a great example of both Marion County and Ocala Fire Rescue working together under the Automatic Aide Agreement.
