Several residents of an Ocala apartment complex have been displaced following a structure fire early Saturday morning that left eight units uninhabitable.

According to a press release from Ocala Fire Rescue, several trucks and crews were dispatched to a structure fire at the 1500 block of Northeast 2nd Street at 4:16am.

Upon arrival, flames were engulfing the rear side of the two-story apartment complex. The fire was moving from the porch of a second floor apartment toward the roof and the breezeway.

Residents who evacuated on their own told firefighters there were still people inside. After a search and fire suppression efforts, the two individuals were safely removed.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
