TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- Students in Taylor County were released early after authorities received a bomb threat on Monday.
The Taylor County Sheriff's Office worked with school officials to make sure every student in both public and private schools left the building as soon as possible.
Taylor County Superintendent Danny Glover Jr. says "I have to give a lot of credit to our staff and the community. We let kids go at 1:15, and by 2 o'clock or approximately 2 o'clock all schools were empty and all the students were gone. That was a great job by our staff for doing that."
The Taylor County Sheriff's Office says an inmate wrote a letter demanding $1 million or bombs would go off in schools.
Police searched the schools and confirmed that the campuses were safe.
