Tampa man charged with 34 counts of possessing card skimmers

A Tampa man was arrested in Gainesville Tuesday after police said they found multiple card skimmers in his car during a traffic stop.

According to the arrest report, Carlos Del Pino, 29, was pulled over on Interstate 75 South for illegal window tints.

Police had initially intended to give Del Pino a warning but they asked to search Del Pino’s car, which he allowed.

During the search, police found 29 card skimmers and 5 credit card readers in the front driver’s side quarter panel.

They also found a crow bar, a gas pump key, a Visa gift card, a lighter and drill bits in the rear driver’s side quarter panel.

In the rear floor boards Police found a drill and a box of rubber gloves. They also found a computer attachment used to download card information from the skimmers in the center console.

Del Pino was charged with 34 counts of card skimmer possession. He was booked at the Alachua County Jail with no bond set.
