After being approved by the State Senate, the Florida House of Representatives will take up a bill that would begin the process of designing a toll road that would run through North Central Florida.

The bill provides money to fund studies to construct three new toll roads in the state, including one that would extend the existing Suncoast Parkway in Citrus County north to the Georgia state line.

The Senate bill was approved 37 to 1, with North Central Florida senators Keith Perry and Dennis Baxley in support.
