Three pedestrians hit and killed in Alachua County

A trio of deadly pedestrian accidents this week has law enforcement sharing their condolences to the families in mourning.

A

was hit and killed by a vehicle as he was walking in the bike lane on SW 20th Avenue near the Pinetree Gardens apartments.

University of Florida student

was hit while crossing at the intersection of East University Avenue and NE 25th street.

And,

was hit and killed by a milk truck while trying to cross Highway 441 near Turkey Creek.

All this even has law enforcement feeling the pain.

"It's important to pay attention to the lights, especially for pedestrians as well," Sgt Lisa Scott with the Gainesville Police Department said. "So, its important to abide by things like that as well and for vehicles, especially when they're turning right to double look and look out for one another."

So far it has raised more than $18,000 surpassing their goal of 15.
