GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)-- Tobacco-Free Florida Week kicked off on Monday, April 22, 2019.
It’s an effort to decrease tobacco use in the state.
John Michael Gonzales from the Florida Department of Health says the focus of Tobacco-Free Florida Week this year is “putting the spotlight on the epidemic that is the drastic rise in e-cigarette use among our youth.”
Gonzales says, “Unfortunately, e-cigarette use is exploding all across the state, and in Alachua County as well.”
There are a number of resources available for tobacco users who want to quit.
