A deadly crash backed up traffic on I-75 for hours Wednesday evening.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers tell TV20, one person was killed when a pickup truck crashed and burst into flames.

The truck driver was headed north on I-75 around 5 p.m. between 39th Avenue and the Alachua exit. The driver then ran off the road and hit a tree.

The truck caught on fire, FHP troopers said. One of the two people inside was able to escape.

The other person was killed, FHP troopers said. The name of that person has not been released.

All lanes have since been re-opened.
