The Florida Department of Health in Alachua County has issued an advisory for eastern equine encephalitis, a rare disease that is caused by a virus spread by infected mosquitoes that can cause inflammation of the brain.

The Health Department says its system is currently detecting an increase in mosquito activity and the presence of "Triple E."

So far, no cases in the area have been reported.
