GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -- Police are warning people to be on alert after two attacks on women walking alone this week.

In both attacks the man responsible got away. In the first attack a woman near Southwest 35th Place was attacked and pulled into a wooded area by a man Monday night.

The victim was able to fight off her attacker and get help.

Then on Wednesday morning another woman was attacked while walking on a trail in Alfred Ring Park.

That woman was sexually assaulted. Police do not yet know if the same man is responsible for both attacks.
