Two men arrested in the kidnapping and torture of Ocala couple
It was a real life horror story for an Ocala couple who were tortured by a neighbor.
The couple was beaten, bound and burned.
Police have arrested both Phillip Washington III and Antonio Maurice Jamison in relation to this incident.
According to the police report, on April 14th, 2019 a 39-year-old male victim was lured to Washington's home after the suspect had asked the victim for help repairing his roof.
Washington also tricked the victim into stealing the power tools needed for the repair.
When the victim arrived to the home he was attacked and beaten by a group of people.
He told police that he was struck multiple times by the group, braking a DVD player while hitting him.
The 45-year-old girlfriend of the victim, became worried when her boyfriend hadn't come home and went to Washington's residence to look for him.
She was then cursed at, taken and beaten.
The kidnapping and torture went on throughout the night. At one point the couple was removed from Washington's residence and taken to the location 'where they would be killed.'
Miraculously the couple was then transported back to the original residence, and remained there until morning when they were finally released.
The couple didn't report the incident until some time later, telling police they truly feared for their lives, as Washington and Jamison not only threatened them but their families as well.
The incident wasn’t reported until Wednesday April, 24th, 2019. Police were told about the incident when investigating the stolen tools.
Washington and Jamison are currently being held at the Marion County Jail.
The investigation continues as detectives work to identify others involved in this brutal crime.
