Two small planes crash in St. Johns County, two injured

ST JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- Two people have been hospitalized in serious condition while two others are unharmed after two small planes went down in St. Johns County, Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the first plane (pictured above) carrying Joseph Linebach and Thomas Linebach, both of Satsuma, crashed shortly after take-off. Troopers say the plane crashed into an oak tree at the edge of a corn field.

The plane landed upside-down and both occupants were taken to an area hospital.

On the second plane, Terry Umbenhaur, of St. Augustine, and Bassam Sameh Labib E, of Jacksonville, were flying when the pilot made an error. The plane crashed in a field and overturned on its roof.

Both men were not injured.
