UFPD says that on Monday just before 6:00am, a woman walking north from Garage 9 was grabbed from behind. The victim was able to escape the man, and the man ran back towards the garage.

Sergeant Tim Peck of the University of Florida Police Department has the following advice: If you have to park in a remote location, either try to get with security or a transportation service at your work. If that's not possible, try and coordinate with a coworker to walk together.

The suspect is described as a man in his early 20's, between 5'6'' and 5'7'' tall, wearing a tan shirt, gray shorts, and black baseball cap and may be Hispanic.

Garage 9 is just off Archer road, next to the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center and across the road from the UF Health Medical Lab Medical Plaza.

UFPD asks anyone with information about what happened to call them at 352-392-1111 or use the UFPD Silent Witness link. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 352-372-STOP (7867).
