Today, UF Health opened the new Comprehensive Spine Center.

The new center brings together neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, pain physicians and neurologists in one department.

UF Health says this collaboration allows patients to be more efficiently treated without having to wait for referrals.

"Really, for the first time to bring something like this at this high level at the University of Florida is something we've all been really excited to do. It is really, I think, the first of its kind, certainly at this institution and particularly for the state of Florida in this region," said associate professor of neurosurgery, Dr. Daniel Hoh.

The center is open 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located at the UF Health Neuromedicine Hospital.
