UF Health professor receives grant to study cancer-causing herpes infections

GAINESVILLE, Fla (WCJB) -- Doctor Zsolt Toth was chosen to receive a 4-year research grant worth nearly 800-thousand dollars from the American Cancer Society to study the Oncogenic herpes virus infection.

He is an assistant professor in the Department of Oral Biology.

Toth said the money will be used to help identify the key factors in tumor causing herpes infections with the goal of eliminating the spreading of cancer-causing herpes viruses.
