UF holds sustainability fair

Gainesville, Fl. (WCJB) -- UF students and faculty got an up-close look today at ecologically friendly transportation.

The sustainability fair showcased multiple styles of electric vehicles from teslas to golf cart sized options.
The idea was to show how the advancements in electric car technology mean the cars are a viable option for personal and business use.

The outreach coordinator for UF's Office of Sustainability Allison Vitt said," if there are departments on campus that are looking to adopt an electric vehicle as part of their fleet, this is great chance to get to talk to drivers on campus and learn a little more what they're experiences are like with these vehicles."

In 2015 UF announced its goal to convert 10 percent of its entire fleet to electric.

Vitt says fairs like this are helping to move that goal closer to being achieved.
