A University of Florida student has received a prestigious award for his work in the fields of natural science, math, and engineering. Aaron Sandoval, a sophomore, has been awarded a Goldwater Scholarship.
He is a Biology major and plans to earn an M.D. and a PhD, in stem cell and regenerative biology before pursuing a research career in regenerative medicine.
He currently conducts research with Dr. Malcolm Maden, a UF biology professor and researcher in the cancer and genetics research complex. The Goldwater Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding work.
