UFPD investigating sexual battery near Ben Hill Griffin Stadium prior to homecoming game

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB)- The University of Florida has put out a Timely Warning today following a reported sexual battery that occurred before the Gator football game against Auburn on Saturday, October 5.

According to the Timely Warning, the University of Florida Police Department is investigating after a woman told them she had been attacked just before the game while tailgating.

They say that the attack happened sometime between 2:50pm and 3:10pm, after the victim and her friends were walking to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium from the area where they had been tailgating.

According to the report, the victim became separated from her friends and was then met by the suspect. The suspect then walked her to an area between the UF Infirmary and the Florida Gym, where he attacked her.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 18 and 25, around 5'8'' tall with straight dark blonde hair. Anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to call the UFPD at 352.392.1111 or us the UFPD Silent Witness on their website.
