A person was hit and killed earlier this morning while trying to cross U.S. Highway 441 near Turkey Creek. Florida Highway Patrol troopers were called after a milk truck hit the person.

FHP said the pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing.

"Early this morning FHP got a call about a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Once our troopers did get on scene in fact we did have exactly that," said Lieutenant Patrick Riordan the Public Information Officer for Florida Highway Patrol Troop B. "We've got a small milk truck that struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was trying to cross 441 and unfortunately didn't make it all the way across before a collision happened between the truck and pedestrian."

Troopers says the driver of the milk truck did stop after hitting the victim. FHP is still working to identify the victim.
