GAINESVILLE, Fla.(WCJB)-- The U.S. House District 2 race between Republican incumbent Neal Dunn and Democratic challenger Bob Rackleff, has been interrupted in recent weeks due to Hurricane Michale hitting the Panhandle.
The district includes 19 counties including Gilchrist, Dixie, Levy, and parts of Columbia and Marion.
Both candidates have spent time helping with relief efforts.
We spoke with Rackleff last week, and Friday we got the chance to speak with Dunn on Skype.
We asked him why he has all but stopped campaigning, to focus on hurricane relief efforts.
Dunn has enjoyed a healthy fundraising advantage.
According to the Federal Election Commission, since January he has raised over a million dollars.
Whereas, Rackleff has raised over $200,000 since June.
