North Central Florida unemployment rates took a leap in January.

Jobless numbers rose significantly in each local county after the holiday shopping rush ended.

While the size of the labor force remained the same, more people were out of work in January than December 2018.

Of all North Central Florida counties, Bradford had the lowest unemployment rate whereas Marion had the highest.

Overall, January’s numbers were slightly better than this time last year.
