GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — The voter registration deadline for the upcoming election in Gainesville is February 19th.
The Supervisor of Elections office is hosting voter registration drives with the Gainesville Housing Authority.
Office staff will be visiting properties on February 12th, 13th, and 18th from 4pm to 6pm in an effort to increase voter participation.
"We'll have voter registrations we have or be allowing people to sign up for vote by mail. We'll have all sorts of information including sample ballots related to the upcoming election. We want to make sure not only are people voting but that they have an understanding of what they are voting on. What they need to do to make sure their voice is heard before the March 19th city of Gainesville election," said TJ Pyche, Director of Outreach at the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections.
You can register online at registertovoteflorida.gov, in-person, or by mail.
The Gainesville municipal election for mayor and one city commission seat is March 19th.
