GAINESVILLE, Fla.(WCJB)-- Voter turnout for the Midterm Elections in Florida was the highest in 24 years. And it was even higher in North Central Florida.
With some provision and overseas ballots yet to be counted, nearly 350,000 voters cast a ballot in the 8 counties in our region-- resulting in a turnout of nearly 64%.
Statewide, it was a little more than 62%. The highest turnout was Union County, where more than 66% of registered voters cast a ballot.
