Voting for Bronson election begins today

BRONSON, Fla. (WCJB) -- Seven months of controversy comes to a head in Bronson today.

When two new town council members were appointed in February, they voted to name Robert Patrin as mayor.

That didn't sit well with some residents who said the vice mayor should have been promoted.

Now at least two of those opponents are hoping to be elected themselves.

Former Mayor Franklin Schuler and his daughter, Sherrie Schuler, are challenging incumbents Tony Berlon Weeks Jr. and Jason Hunt.

Franklin Schuler and Weeks are running for town council seat 5. Hunt and Sherrie Schuler are running for town council seat 4.

An open seat 2 for town council is being contested by James Beck and Aaron Edmonson.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dogan Cobb Municipal building. Only those who live within the municipality and are registered voters are eligible to vote.
