Happy Friday everyone! A wide variety of activities here this weekend...

The Florida Museum of Natural History is hosting its ButterflyFest Saturday. It's a cool event that celebrates backyard wildlife, including bats, bees, birds and, of course, butterflies. There'll be butterfly releases, workshops, food and entertainment. It's Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm... with a big plant sale Saturday from 10 to 5 and Sunday from 11 to 5. Across town, the 35th Art Festival at Thornebrook is this weekend. The festival features a wide variety of art from over a hundred artists, food, a children's area and entertainment on four stages. It's Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm at Thornebrook Village, 2441 NW 43rd Street in Gainesville.

If you enjoy the great outdoors, head to the Oaks Mall. Our radio partners 93-7 K-Country and WIND-FM are hosts for the Gainesville Outdoor Expo Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. It's a great event if you're into boating, fishing, wildlife, archery, and more. And there'll be an obstacle course and bounce house for the young...and young at heart. Meanwhile, to the north in Lafayette County, Saturday is Pioneer Day in Mayo. The annual event features food, arts and crafts, music and fun activities. It's Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm at Veterans Memorial Park in Mayo.

Heading south to Marion County, Ocala Electric Utility is having its Customer Appreciation Day tonight from 6 to 8 pm at Citizens' Circle in Ocala. Food will be provided by Mojo Grill, while it lasts. There'll also be entertainment, giveaways, family friendly activities and rides in OEU's bucket trucks...sounds like fun. Also, Marion County Parks and Recreation is having its Brick City Carnival Saturday from 5 to 8 pm. The fun includes a hay maze, games, music, food and trick or treating. It's at Brick City Adventure Park in southeast Ocala.

Onstage, the Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville is featuring it's latest production, The Blameless. Shows are tonight at 8, Saturdays at 2 and 8 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. There are also shows Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7. The production wraps up November 3rd.

Finally, the Builders Association of North Central Florida is presenting the Alachua County Fall Parade of Homes this weekend and next....while the Lake City - Columbia County Chamber features Trunk or Treat, and other fun activities, tonight at 6 pm at Wilson Park in Lake City.
