Happy Friday everyone! Plenty of things to do, indoors and out, this weekend.

Indoors, the Gainesville Community Playhouse is featuring its latest production. Beauty and the Beast premiered on Broadway in 1994...and was a huge success for Disney in its animated and live action films. You can see it onstage at GCP tonight at 8. Shows are also at 2 and 8 pm Saturday and 2 pm Sunday. Across town, the Florida Museum of Natural History is having its Starry Night event tonight from 6 to 10 pm. Even if the weather doesn't cooperate outdoors, there's tons of astronomy related activities inside...from creating comets to learning about telescopes to talking to astronomers about the universe. And you can get a bit to eat while you're there.

A variety of sports this weekend over at UF. Gator football returns to the Swamp for the first time in over a month. The team takes on Vanderbilt Saturday at noon. There's a basketball double header at the O'Connell Center Sunday. First, the men's team faces Florida State at 1 pm. The women's basketball team follows with their game against Longwood at 3:30. Also Sunday, Gator baseball is in action as they play their second fall exhibition game. They take on USF at 3 pm at McKethan Stadium.

In Marion County, the City of Ocala hosts its annual Ocala Harvest Fest Saturday from 1 to 10 pm. There'll be two stages of live music at the event, along with a beer garden, a food truck court and art vendors. General admission is 20 bucks. It's at Tuscawilla Park. Meanwhile, this is the weekend for Ocali Country Days where you can get a taste of 1800's Florida. You'll get to see living history exhibits, tour pioneer cabins, and see how sugar cane syrup was made the old fashioned way. Food, live music and crafts vendors are part of the event. It's Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm at the Silver River Museum.

Veterans Day is Monday and there are events this weekend to celebrate it. One of them is Bikers on Parade which is designed to honor members of the military and first responders. It's north-central Florida's largest motorcycle charity ride. Bikers will gather at the staging area at Santa Fe College Sunday starting at 8 am. The ride starts at 11 and finishes at Gainesville Raceway with an after party featuring music, barbecue, beer and raffles.
