A well-known attorney with clients in Gainesville has been disbarred by the Florida Supreme Court.
The high court issued that ruling Today in connection with ten cases pending involving Chris Chesnut.
Lower Court Judges had recommended a Three-year suspension of Chesnut's license but the justices disagreed and said Chesnut will be disbarred 30 days from today.
He can use that time to close out cases and is not allowed to accept new cases. He must also pay the Florida Bar more than 28 thousand dollars for recovery costs.
If Chris Chesnut filed a motion for rehearing it will not change the effective date of the disbarment.
