Florida QB Feleipe Franks will leave the program

When Florida quarterback Feleipe franks went down with an ankle injury against Kentucky early this season. It was a next man up mentality for Kyle Trask, who really proved that he could handle the job as the starting QB With a healthy franks sometime in 2020, it'll be an interesting quarterback battle.

However, that won't happen because Franks will not be playing for Florida for his final year of eligibility.

Redshirt junior QB Feleipe Franks announced on Instagram that he will not be returning back to the Gators football program. He says he plans on exploring his options of entering the NFL draft or playing his final year elsewhere. In his two years under Mullen, he went 242 for 393 passing for over 3100 yards with 29 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Along with 131 carries for 428 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground. Lots of quarterbacks will be here next year and Franks, wants lots of minutes.

Last week Trask said he will return to Florida for his redshirt senior year. The Gators also have redshirt freshman Emory Jones who will try to battle it out for the starting job. They'll also get a local product, Eastside high school quarterback Anthony Richardson.
