The Florida men's basketball team came up short in its effort to beat a top-ranked school for the first time in the regular season, losing to #1 Baylor, 72-61 at the O'Connell Center on Saturday. The Gators drop to 12-7 overall.

Keyontae Johnson led the Gators with 20 points, but Florida shot only four for 17 from beyond the three-point arc in the loss. The Gators have now dropped two straight games since upsetting fourth-ranked Auburn last Saturday. Florida stays at home to face Mississippi State on Tuesday.

The visiting Bears improve to 17-1 overall with their 16th consecutive win. Baylor took control with a 20-6 run in the first half and never looked back.

Devonte Bandoo and Macio Teague led the Bears with 16 points apiece. Baylor made nine of 19 treys in the victory.
