George "Mr. Two Bits" Edmonson to be commemorated at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — George Edmonson who was known as "Mr. Two Bits," will be commemorated with a mural inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium during the home opener for the Gators Football team on September 7th.

The George "Mr. Two Bits" Edmonson mural will be located near Gate 1 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

During the home opener, members of the Edmonson family will be teaming up to be the Gators 'Celebrity Two Bits' that evening.

For over 60 years, Edmonson started every Gators home football game with the phrase "Two-Bits, Four-Bits, Six-Bits, a Dollar. All for the Gators, Stand Up and holler!"

Edmonson died on July 2 at age 97.
