Jachai Polite to enter NFL draft

Defensive End Jachai Polite became the third member of the Florida Gators' junior class to declare his eligibility for the NFL draft when he announced his decision via twitter on Monday. Polite was voted a second team All-American this season.

Polite totaled 11 sacks as a junior, added seven other tackles for a loss, and led the SEC with five forced fumbles, one shy of Florida's school record.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, Polite fits the mold of relatively small but lightning quick pass rusher that NFL teams crave. His outstanding junior campaign should put him on the radar.

Junior defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson declared his intention to for-go his senior year after the end of the regular season. Offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor tweeted his intention to leave school early following Florida's 41-15 win over Michigan in the Peach Bowl.
