GAINESVILLE, Fla. Florida Gators senior goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese was a fourth round selection of the NWSL's Blue Sky FC on Thursday. Marckese recently wrapped up her college career as one of the best goalkeepers in Florida history.
As a senior, Marckese started 20 of 21 games for the Gators, while establishing a program record with career 29 shutouts. She saved over 76 percent of shots fired against her over the course of four years. Marckese was also voted to the all-SEC tournament team in her final season.
Blue Sky FC made Marckese the only goalkeeper chosen in this year's draft. The franchise is based in Piscataway, New Jersey and is coming off a last place finish in the NWSL a season ago.
