GAINESVILLE With the season on the line, the Florida soccer team came through with a convincing 3-0 victory over Arkansas in Thursday's season finale at Donald R. Dizney Stadium. The win gives Florida a season ending mark of 6-9-3 overall and 4-4-2 in the Southeastern Conference, just good enough to qualify for the conference tournament.
Fueled by the emotion of Senior Night, Briana Solis opened the scoring in her final home game with a goal in the 10th minute of play. Florida held onto its 1-0 advantage until halftime.
In the second half, Deanne Rose scored twice four minutes apart to put the game out of reach.
Kaylan Marckese was stellar yet again in goal, recording her program-record 28th career shutout.
Florida will play its opening game in the SEC tournament on Sunday afternoon.
